In combination of various social factors, digital natives* fell for digital worlds ever so more. Therefore, it is expected that the digital natives might have emotional, physical and socialability development problems growing up.

In near future, what kinds of adults these digital natives grow up to be?

*Digital Natives : The term digital native describes a person who has grown up in the digital age. Digital natives was meant to describe young people born in close contact with computers and the internet through mobile phones, tablets, and video games consoles.

There are 3 insights we found at our field research. First, most of the children's toys are meant to used indoors.

Second, there were a lot of variation in behavioral education teaching tools.

Third, some toys came in application with recent technology.

Role Playing

How might we provide children with exciting outdoor activity? 

We tested role playing with a idea of storytelling treasure hunt with physical objects. But we found our limitation in having to produce a lot of treasure hunt objects physically, so we decided to integrate digital medium for treasure hunt after this role playing. 

Concept Development

Started from the shape of telescope to horn, we explored the main shapes and details for 4 months.

After sketching, making clay mock ups, and have 3d printed version of mock-ups. we decided to move on with horn-shaped telescope.

We went through detail exploration of the product. Including the curves on the frontal shell parts, what material should the front part be? where to put the straps, whether the strap should be necklace or hand strap, and what material shoud it be? What is the most aehsteically pleasing? How should the button look like in this organic shaped product?

Detail Exploration

Strap went throught a lot of changes including thickness, material, colors.

We explored Dongdaemun about 10th times to get leathers, strap samples to match with our product. 

Eventually we decided to move on with hand cloth strap, and have main body covered with strap so that it's more stable.

We gathered CMF Board images, (hugely got inspired by Disney's Moana). we categorized them into 3 themes.

Main body is made with ABS plastic. we cut maple wood with cnc machine and assembled with mainbody.
